Vintage fairground rides for sale:
Lightning Skid
1965 Hayes fabrication Skid
Built for Tom Smith and sons and originally painted by Fred Fowle. New aluminium rounding boards. Other than the trellises and the artwork between the fishplates, every bit of artwork has been recreated to the original design including using aluminium leaf and genuine Keeps flamboyant.
The starter is reconditioned (like new), Disco smash sound system. Improved brake design on the car meaning the brake pads push down in a way they don’t wear on one edge and last for months at a time.
The centre is discreetly trailer mounted making the machine look original but saving substantial time to build up and pull down. The rest of the bottom of the machine packs on the Foden Alpha that pulls the centre. The crane in the centre lifts the plates, cogs and fish trays. The large box truck has the cars on the top deck with tail lift to unload. All the artwork on the bottom of the same trailer. 3 phase set with transformer included. The Skid is tested and ready to go.
We are currently building up the Skid in the yard ready for viewings, please contact us to view [email protected]
This was the dominant ride for taking money at our fair.
