Open weekend and auction of memorabilia

Join us on the 8th and 9th of July 2023 at our Carters Steam Fair HQ, Carters Yard, White Waltham. This weekend is a unique opportunity to visit our yard that is usually closed to the public and buy a piece of Carters memorabilia, staff uniforms, fairground equipment and vintage vehicles.

Parking – please park on the roadways only being considerate of other road users and residents. You can’t park on any of the nearby grass areas or on the track outside any of our yards.

Open 9-5pm, free entry.

You can preview the auction lot items first hand and buy Carters memorabilia and items including posters, merchandise and staff uniforms. Arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Sunday 9 July: Auction

Open at 8am, auction at 10am in person bids only, free entry.

Carters Steam Fair auction including fairground art, vintage signs, dodgem cars, galloper horses, generators, vintage vehicles, various spare parts and other fairground related paraphernalia.

How to register as a buyer

If you intend to place bids at the auction you will need a bidder number which you will receive when you register as a buyer. We are able to accept in person bids only, no online bidding is available on this occasion. You will not be able to make a bid on the day of the auction if you do not have a bidder number. Buyer registration will open when the catalogue is available. To avoid delays on the day, we recommend advance online registration which can be completed here and closes at 4pm on Saturday 8 July,

Registration is available by exception on the day, but please arrive early to ensure you are registered before the auction starts at 10am.

Auction Catalogue

We have produced two different types of catalogues, a digital version and a printer friendly version.

  1. Catalogue 1 a digital full colour version with words and images, ideal for looking at on screens.
  2. Catalogue 2 a printer friendly version with words only, ideal for printing.
