What will you learn on the course?
This new one day course is designed to give a unique overview into the history and evolution of fairground art through the decades. The course includes a tour around the headquarters of Carters Steam Fair and the chance to see an archive of fairground art pieces which have been rescued by Joby Carter and team including original artwork by Fred Fowle. On the day there will be demonstrations of the different techniques used in fairground art which will give you an insight into the art, you will also have the opportunity to try some of the techniques.
Who is this course for?
This course is ideal for anyone with an interest in fairground art styles or anyone who is painting professionally that wants to add that extra sparkle and authenticity to their work.
When and where is the course?
Saturday 2 July 2023 in the workshop at the Carters Steam Fair yard at White Waltham in Maidenhead which is a live working yard – you’ll be able to see the current signwriting and fairground art projects that are being worked on by Joby and the team.
Throughout the day you’ll have access to lots of paint and materials that you’ll need, and lunch will be provided.
